Deano Mueller Bio

My professional photography career started in 1982 as an assistant to Mr. Richard Noble Studio on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, California. It was an incredible, creative & amazing studio to be part of as I was treated like family. Richard is a legendary photographer whose work graced the covers of all the magazines & billboards for legendary films & print campaigns for 5 decades! His work included the famous “Book of Days” of Virginia Slims Cigarettes’ yearly calendar & world wide print campaign & also for timeless and legendary movie posters with Director Clint Eastwood & the movie “The Untouchables” & Bo Jackson’s book cover which later on became a famous poster for Nike. Words can’t describe what love and appreciation i have for Richard! Being in his studio & working with him was a dream come true for me! It was a true creative process of making timeless & legendary photographs & learning life lessons that still carries on with me today!

Chelsea, New York City was the next stop on my journey in 1986 as the Assistant to Ms. E.J.Camp for Rolling Stone Magazine and numerous amazing movie posters and campaigns for legendary films like Top Gun and many amazing others! I loved working with EJ! Her love & support to me was amazing!

As I continue my photography career, I had the opportunity to become good friends with another photographer Andrew Eccles who later on asked me to be a 2nd assistant to the world-renowned Annie Leibovitz. Being in Annie’s team gave me the opportunity to hone my skills and it paved my way to work in the business professionally.

Moving forward in my career, my long time photographer friend Richard Imrie asked me to join him to work for famous British magazines like Harpers & Queen and Glamour Shooting Majestic location shoots in the West Indies Islands like Guadalupe Island & St. John Island.

In 1989, I started my solo photography career and went on my own. I was privileged to be tapped by Swatch watch to photograph their World wide ad campaign for next 2 years. I also did Cosmopolitan, Spiegel, Mademoiselle, Glamor, Self , Nike, National Football League , The American Leather Commission and Burson-Marsteller ad campaigns.

After exploring New York and its wide array of opportunities for my photography career for 15 years, an offer to work with Billy Poveda for the Oil Factory Films in California came. He also introduced me to Al Masocco who works for Epic Records/Sony Music and this started my career as director of photography for the hit Bed of Roses by Screaming Trees on the MTV show 120 Minutes.
